Imaginary Friend Society Wins Cannes Gold Lion Awards

The Imaginary Friend Society campaign took two Gold Lions at Cannes–one for Integrated Campaign, and the other in the Branded Content & Entertainment: Film, TV and Online Film Content category.
StarBeast had the honor of participating in the Imaginary Friend Society project to develop the animated short film, “Chemotherapy“. In this original film our adorable flying unicorn, named UNI, comforts children with brain tumors and helps them understand chemotherapy.
StarBeast was selected by RPA to work on this project for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. The goal was to make imaginary friends feel believable so that they could entertain and comfort children–who are experts in imagination. We wanted the film to feel like an extension of a child’s imagination. Here’s a peak into the Making of Chemotherapy short film for this heartwarming project.
UNI also appears in the fun new augmented-reality mobile app for the Imaginary Friend Society. The AR app aims to help educate and lift the spirits of the 300,000 children diagnosed with cancer each year.
